Osteoporosis Centre at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield

Last Update: 30 September 2002

Sean Bean and Linda Edwards, Director of the National Osteoporosis Society, at the opening ceremony of the
Osteoporosis Centre, with Professor Richard Eastell (far left) and local artist Don Cameron who sculpted the
bronze figures.

In July 1998, the Osteoporosis Centre was formally opened in its extended accommodation at the Northern
General Hospital. As a result, Sheffield is now able to offer one of the most advanced centres in the UK for
the detection and treatment of osteoporosis.

Thanks to Ian Spooner at the University of Sheffield for the scan.
