Journalists attending a screening of footage from Lord of the Rings at the Cannes Film Festival are being asked to sign a special declaration of goodwill.
Almost the entire cast of the forthcoming films are being flown specially into Cannes for the screening which is taking place at a castle just outside the town.
The film's producers are planning to bring in parts of the set to recreate Middle Earth.
Only 20 minutes of the first part of the trilogy is being shown but it is still one of the most anticipated events of this year's festival.
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is due to be released in the UK in December.
