Evening Standard (July 3/97)
Andy McNab, author of Bravo Two Zero, is busy spending BBC money. The corporation, which is filming his best-selling account of a behind the scenes SAS expedition during the Gulf War, has been forced to foot the bill for a costly pre-production,'outward bound' trip for staff to the Kalahari desert, where the filming will eventually take place.
"Why don't you just go to the Brecon Beacons?" McNab was asked by a BBC executive, wearily.
McNab, dagger between teeth, muttered: "Because the gun laws are too tight in this county". Grrrrrrrr.
